If you thought last week’s list of 12 players was a lot, even more ‘Hawks are now on the injury list. This time about half the players listed are starters unlike last week where the majority of players listed were backups.
The good news is that out of the 13 players on the injury report, only two are listed as out and eight listed as probable.
It’s déjà vu for Seattle’s starting running back Marshawn Lynch, with starting right defensive end Chris Clemons following suit. Neither man participated in practice this Wednesday for non-injury related reasons. On Thursday and both were able to fully participate in practice. They are listed as probable.
Backup defensive end Michael Bennett (back) who was injured in last week’s game and had to be carted off the field appears to have made a full recovery. He was able to fully participate in practice all three days. He is listed as probable.
For the other five starters, three of them are offensive players. Right tackle Breno Giacomini (knee) did not participate in practice any of the days this week and is one of two players listed as out. Michael Bowie is listed as his replacement on the depth chart. Center Max Unger (arm) was limited in practice both Wednesday and Thursday and did not practice on Friday. He is listed as questionable. Lemuel Jeanpierre would likely fill in if Unger cannot play. Tight end Zach Miller (hamstring) was not listed on the injury report Wednesday but was unable to participate in practice Thursday and Friday. He is questionable. Luke Willson is behind Miller on the depth chart.
Fortunately for the Seahawks, just two of the defensive players listed are starters. Right defensive tackle Brandon Mebane (knee) is listed as questionable because he did not practice Wednesday but was able to fully participate on Thursday and Friday. Outside linebacker K.J. Wright (shoulder) is probable and was able to practice fully all three days.
Of the five other backups listed, only one of them is on offense. Fullback Spencer Ware (ankle) was unable to practice any of the days. He is the other Seahawk listed as out. Left defensive tackle Jordan Hill (biceps) was able to fully participate all three days. He is listed as probable.
The final three Seahawks are all members of the secondary. Strong safety Jeron Johnson (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday but was back to full participation both Thursday and Friday and is probable. Cornerback Jeremy Lane (hamstring) did not participate in practice at all this week and is doubtful. Cornerback Walter Thurmond (shoulder) was not listed on Wednesday and was limited in practice on Thursday and fully participated on Friday. He is listed as probable.
Kickoff against the Indianapolis Colts is scheduled for 10:00 am PDT.
- Probable: a 75% chance the injured player will be medically cleared for the game
- Questionable: a 50% chance the injured player will be medically cleared for the game
- Doubtful: a 25% chance the injured player will be medically cleared for the game
- Out: there is no chance the injured player will be medically cleared for the game
