A surprise name surfaced on the Seahawks official injury report. Running back Marshawn Lynch sat out the Tuesday afternoon practice with a hip issue.
With the quick turnaround from a Sunday game it could be just precautionary for the heart and soul of Seattle’s rushing attack. Lynch was given a couple days off last week but still carried the ball 21 times for 77 yards, and produced the biggest pass play in the victory over the Titans.
Seattle’s defense could be missing a couple starters Thursday night against the Cardinals in Glendale, Arizona. Middle linebacker Bobby Wagner (sprained ankle), and defensive end Chris Clemons (elbow) did not participate in the Tuesday workouts.
Right tackle Breno Giacomini continues to make his way back from arthroscopic knee surgery and fullback Spencer Ware is still recovering from a sprained ankle.
Tight end Zach Miller had a full practice for the first time in 2 weeks since hurting his hamstring. The Phoenix, Arizona native told me he’s excited to return to his home turf to play in front of friends and family. Miller’s return can also give Seattle’s offense more options with a 3 tight end package.
O’brien Schofield is another Seahawks player amped up about a return to Arizona. The linebacker/ special teams player was cut by the Cardinals last summer and immediately picked up by Seattle. Schofield remains close to a few of the Arizona defensive players, but insists he has no extra incentive to beat them.
