Vote in the poll below in regards to who you think should be the next Mariners skipper

(1090 The Fan) — Dodgers third base coach Tim Wallach will interview with the Seattle Mariners for the vacant manager position, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Wallach’s interview follows Ron Wotus, the bench coach of the San Francisco Giants, who had been the latest candidate to interview to become the new skipper

According to Heyman, Seattle has a “long list” of candidates which includes the Oakland Athletic’s bench coach Chip Hale, the San Diego Padres bench coach Rick Renteria and the Detroit Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon.

Eric Wedge, who had been the Mariners’ manager for the previous three seasons, informed the team in September he would not be returning in 2014.

Since the Mariners’ last postseason appearance (2001), the team will have had nine managers once the 2014 season begins. The previous eight are Wedge, Daren Brown, Don Wakamatsu, John McLaren, Jim Riggleman, Mike Hargrove, Bob Melvin and Lou Piniella.
