(CBS Seattle) — A drunk man harassed diners at a Denny’s in SoDo and threatened an employee with a knife, according to Seattle police.
Wednesday night around 7 p.m., the 36-year-old man walked into the restaurant and placed an order. He then started wandering around uttering profanity and taunting other customers. After the man finished eating and paid, an employee asked him to leave. That’s when the man grabbed a knife from a table and pointed it at the waiter. There was another confrontation as the man left the restaurant and employees called police.
The suspect was outside Denny’s when officers arrived. He complained to officers he paid too much for his bill and claimed the staff stole his money, then demanded officers arrest them for theft. He was arrested and taken to jail for harassment, trespassing and unlawful use of weapons.
