(1090 The Fan) — Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is facing a suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, according to NFL Media columnist Michael Silver.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted the suspension would be a one-year ban from the league.

There are no details yet on the nature of the violation.

The NFL had originally reported the suspension was surrounding a performance-enhancing drug violation, however, the league recanted that report. Browner was appalled by the false allegations and tweeted his frustrations:

Browner has been out with a groin injury, but the Seahawks anticipated he would be healed in time for the playoffs.
