(1090 The Fan) — Just a few days into the Winter Meetings the Mariners have made themselves be known as one of the most aggressive trading teams. Wednesday, the Marlins traded Logan Morrison to Seattle in exchange for right-handed relief pitcher Carter Capps.
Morrison, 26, is coming off two offensively sub-par seasons after an encouraging start to his Major League career. In 2013, Morrison was limited to just 333 plate appearances in which he held a line of .242/.333/.375.
In 2011, the then 23-year-old belted 23 home runs and 72 RBI — he also finished with an on-base percentage of .330.
Morrison is under team control through the 2016 season.
