REDMOND, Wash. (CBS Seattle) – Don’t expect any news about the next Microsoft CEO until next year, reports CNet.
It cites a blog post released by John Thompson, who serves on the board of the software giant.
The post was vague about who might be in the running to replace outgoing chief executive Steve Ballmer.
“As you would expect, as this group has narrowed, we’ve done deeper research and investigation, including with the full board. We’re moving ahead well, and I expect we’ll complete our work in the early part of 2014,” Thompson wrote.
CNet speculates the could mean either that Microsoft is wooing a well-known candidate and doesn’t want to tip its hand just yet or that the company is having trouble finding someone who will accept an offer.
