SILVERDALE, Wash. (AP) — The Kitsap Sheriff’s office says a 12-year-old boy has been arrested after a “hit-list” containing 18 names and a hand-drawn floor map were found in his possessions.
Authorities also say the boy’s plans included an attack using gunfire.
Investigation into the boy’s intentions began when an adult monitoring an online chat room saw concerning statements coming from one of the users. He notified authorities and the Internet address was traced to the 12-year-old’s home in East Bremerton. Authorities then notified officials at Ridgetop Junior High School, where his belongings were searched, and a hand-written hit-list was found.
He was booked into Kitsap County Youth Services Center on a charge of harassment last Thursday but later released to his parents.
