(1090 The Fan) — In his latest blog for Seahawks fans, Seattle defensive back Richard Sherman says Saturday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints will be “a dogfight” that he and the rest of the team welcome into Seattle.
Sherman also speaks highly of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who he credits as being an instrumental part in the team’s resilience all season. Sherman says of Wilson, “In just two years, Russell has developed a veteran perception about himself that everyone on the team buys into. His ability to remain calm in pressure situations is what makes him an elite quarterback. In addition to Russell’s leadership, we will also rely on the clutch play that has been provided all year by Marshawn [Lynch] and our receiving corps. Our balanced offensive attack is what we’ll bring to the table to mix-up the looks on the Saints.”
Sherman and the Seahawks defense will attempt to repeat their dominance against the Saints. Mon Monday Night Football (December 2, 2013) this season, the Seahawks limited New Orleans to seven points — which game on a two-yard pass from Drew Brees to Jimmy Graham. The Saints’ ground game was stuffed for four quarters and were limited to just 44 rushing yards.
