(1090 The Fan) — Sam Dower Jr. scored 24 points as Gonzaga held off a second half charge from the San Francisco Dons for a 75-65 win, Saturday night.
Przemek Karnowski added 12 points and eight rebounds and Gary Bell Jr. finished with 13 points to aid the Zags’ scoring. Gonzaga (20-3, 10-1) earned its sixth consecutive conference win since dropping its first West Coast Conference game since 2011 last month to Portland.
The Dons climbed to within 34-33 at the 18:04 mark of the second half, but Gonzaga went on a 9-2 run to extend its lead and never looked back.
Guard Avry Holmes scored 18 points and Mark Tollefsen added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Dons who were held to 34.5 percent shooting.
San Francisco (14-9, 7-4) was riding a 3-game winning streak and is in third place in the WCC.
