Police Impersonator Surrenders In Snohomish County

EVERETT (AP) — The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says a man who was wanted for impersonating an officer surrendered Thursday night and has been booked into jail in Everett.

The sheriff’s office says the 24-year-old man attended a gun show Saturday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. He told security that he was an armed undercover detective with the Washington State Patrol. He displayed what appeared to be a badge. He was driving a retired police car equipped with lights and siren.

The sheriff’s office says he’s banned by a court order from carrying a gun and may have posed a risk to the public.
