(1090 The Fan) — Another piece from the Super Bowl XLVIII-winning Seahawks team will be suiting up in a different uniform next season. Wide receiver Golden Tate has reportedly agreed on a five-year contract with the Detroit Lions, according to the team.
In 2013, Tate caught 64 passes for 898 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Seahawks in both receptions and receiving yards.
The 25-year-old was picked by Seattle in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. In four season with Seattle, Tate tallied 2,195 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns — including one of the most controversial touchdowns in the history of the game.
The move to the Motor City comes despite tate saying he wanted to stay with the Seahawks in January.
