(1090 The Fan) — Seattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino is preparing for his first full season in the big leagues but is far from a finished product. He joined The Steve Sandmeyer Show Friday and discussed his new batting stance, growing up the son of a baseball player and scout and even opined on the new collision rule at home plate.
When asked which pitcher has impressed him the most this spring, Felix Hernandez was the first name he mentioned, but Zunino quickly moved on to a young left-hander. “I’m really impressed with James Paxton,” he said. “He came in ready to go. He came in in great shape, his arm was ready to go and he’s sort of hit the ground running.”
