Austin Seferian-Jenkins On College Athletics: ‘It’s Really A Job’
(1090 The Fan) — Former Washington Huskies tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins won’t be partaking in the Dawgs’ Pro Day on Wednesday, but he will be out at Husky Stadium to support his former teammates quarterback Keith Price and running back Bishop Sankey.
ASJ told the Steve Sandmeyer Show on Tuesday that he is still continuing to recover from foot surgery, but he vows to be out running drills in front of scouts later this month. The tight end is gearing up for the NFL Draft and staying positive, looking forward to play for whatever team selects him.
ASJ also weighed in on the state of the NCAA by saying he believes the organization operates as a business — something he did not anticipate as a freshman. He says based on his experience, NCAA student athletes’ number one focus has to absolutely be the sport they’re playing, not school.
