(CBS Seattle) — Washington State University announced Wednesday it will waive tuition for the 2014-2015 school year for students affected by the deadly Oso landslide, according to KING 5.
WSU president Elson Floyd said in a letter to Darrington mayor Dan Rankin that the waiver applies to students whose permanent addresses are in Oso or Darrington.
“It is essential for the entire State to assist in the recovery efforts. We will certainly do our part,” said Floyd.
The WSU Snohomish County Extension is also helping evacuate and care for farm animals.
