SEATTLE (AP) — Warmer and mostly drier spring weather is forecast this week in Washington.

The National Weather Service expects high temperatures in the 60s in Western Washington and 70s in Eastern Washington.

The only rain showers are expected Tuesday and Tuesday night, which could close the roof on Safeco Field for the Mariners home opener.

Partly sunny skies are forecast Wednesday and Thursday.

Forecasters say Tuesday’s rain will cause the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River to rise about a foot in the pool formed by the March 22 mudslide at Oso. That’s 2 or 3 feet below the high reached on March 30. Rain and flooding remain a concern for the recovery workers at the site.
