PORTLAND Ore. (CBS Seattle) – Oregon police are searching for a missing 17-year-old girl believed be with a former sheriff’s deputy.
The family of Marriah F. Andrews reported her missing on Friday. She is described as a white girl, 5’4″, 130 lbs, with blonde hair, blue eyes and a pierced nose.
She was last seen by a friend Friday morning near Lakeview with an adult male identified as 42-year-old Kenneth D. Turkle.
He worked for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for over 10 years. He resigned last week while under investigation because of allegations he was having a sexual relationship with the teen girl.
Police contacted Turkle by telephone on the day Andrews was reported missing. He denied knowing where she was.
But when officers tried to contact Turkle afterwards, he was nowhere to be found. Authorities believe Turkle and Andrews are together.
Authorities say two vehicles registered to Turkle have been accounted for and they are not sure how the two are traveling.
An arrest warrant was issued against Turkle on charges of sexual abuse of a minor.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Oregon State Police at (541) 947-2267.
