Seahawks’ Michael Bennett To Host Charity Event
(CBS Seattle) — The Seattle Seahawks’ Michael Bennett recorded 8.5 sacks in 2013, and on May 31st the defensive standout is asking fans to help him “sack obesity.”
Bennett’s charity event, Champs & Cocktails For A Cause, will benefit OCEAN — a program founded by Bennett (led by Hawaii Optimum Performance and St. Louis School) that aims to “fight obesity through community, education, activity and nutrition.” The OCEAN camp has previously been hosted in Hawaii, but Bennett hopes to bring the camp to Washington state, and later, to his native Texas.
General admission ticket purchasers will enjoy tailgate-style hors d’oeuvres and Seahawk-inspired cocktails, take photos with players and have up to two items autographed by the Seahawks. A VIP ticket purchase offers a 3 course sit-down dinner with Seahawks players and a swag bag.
The event will be hosted Saturday May 31st, from 1pm – 4pm at the Columbia Tower Club. Tickets for the event can be purchased online.
A number of Bennett’s Seahawks teammates are scheduled to appear, including Percy Harvin, Doug Baldwin, KJ Wright, Bruce Irvin, Brandon Mebane, O’Brien Schofield and Jermaine Kearse.
