(1090 The Fan) — No team has more of an uphill battle to secure an NFL championship than the team that won it the year before. Congratulations, Seahawks. The tough road to repeat as champions is underway.
Part of the reason why winning the Super Bowl two years in a row is so hard nowadays is because every single move a franchise makes is put under the microscope and exploited; each player’s off-season activities are carefully documented. And on that note, Rant Sports has compiled a list of five rumors surrounding the team heading into next week’s OTAs.
The five items include quarterback Terrelle Pryor, rookie receiver Paul Richardson and more.
But one particular rumor many are talking about involves wide receiver Doug Baldwin. Will Baldwin’s contract be extended before the season starts? Here’s what Rant Sports’ Cody Strahm says about the situation:
After 778 receiving yards and a career-high five touchdowns in 2013, wide receiver Doug Baldwin is lobbying for a long-term extension in Seattle. He’s yet to sign his one-year tender because the Seahakws have reportedly offered him an extension which he has subsequently counter offered. Regardless of what happens long term, Baldwin has said he has no interest in holding out during training camp for a more lucrative deal.
