(CBS Seattle) — Sammamish, Snoqualmie and Bainbridge Island are the top three safest cities in Washington state, according to a recent study by real estate search site Movoto.
Movoto made its ranking based on the number of murders, violent crimes, property crimes and total crimes per 100,000 residents in 2012.
Sammamish’s low crime rate in 2012 translated to residents having a 1-in-131 chance of being a victim of any crime. Bainbridge Island did tally any robberies or murders in the same year.
Also in the top ten safest Washington cities were Mercer Island, Pullman and West Richland.
Tukwilia was ranked the least safest city in Washington based on its 1-in-six ratio of being a victim of a crime; the city tallied 1,7,082 crimes per 100,000 residents.
