TUKWILA, Wash. (AP) — Police say they’ve arrested four men after a car raced north on Interstate 5 near Seattle and crashed.

KOMO-TV reports that a Southcenter Mall security guard spotted a group of men breaking into a car Thursday evening. They ran to their own car and drove off when he approached so he called police. Cmdr. Eric Drever of the Tukwila police says officers initially chased the men but stopped due to the fleeing vehicle’s speed.

Drever says the car hit another vehicle, then raced onto northbound I-5. He says officers caught up to the car after the driver lost control and it flipped upside down. Five men scrambled from the wrecked car and ran.

By late Thursday night, four men were in custody. Three were treated for crash injuries. KOMO reports that the fourth was jailed on a state Corrections Department escape warrant.
