(1090 The Fan) — Kyle Seager joined the Jim Rome Show on Friday to talk about the Mariners’ hot streak and their upcoming series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

But beyond the conversation about what it means to have Robinson Cano in the lineup and whether or not Seattle can be a contender in September was a discussion about Dave Sims, the play-by-play announcer for the Mariners’ TV broadcasts on ROOT Sports.

Sims’ caught viewers off guard on Monday seconds after Seager smoked a home run at Yankee Stadium in the top of the ninth inning. Once the bat hit the ball, Sims exploded with joy shouting, “There’s a drive! Deep to right field! Say goodbye!”

But then it got weird.

“Hey Lloyd!” Sims yelled. “Do some … delivery … for the truck … to the airport!”

The gibberish-filled sound byte went viral and left millions puzzled.
