Seattle Shooting Victim: ‘Getting Stronger’
SEATTLE (AP) — A 19-year-old woman who is the only victim still hospitalized after last week’s Seattle Pacific University shooting says she is “healing and getting stronger” but still has a long way to go to a full recovery.
Sarah Williams was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday at Harborview Medical Center. She was severely wounded in the shooting last Thursday that killed 19-year-old Paul Lee and wounded another student, Thomas Fowler. Prosecutors have charged Aaron Ybarra with first-degree murder, attempted murder and assault.
In a statement, Williams says she and her family “send our love and prayers to the other victims and to Paul Lee’s family.” And she expresses her gratitude to her fellow students and friends as well as to police, the doctors and staff at Harborview “and to the friends back home in Phoenix who are doing everything they can do to help me and my family.”
