Arraignment Scheduled For Accused King County Deputy

SEATTLE (AP) — The arraignment for accused King County sheriff’s deputy Darrion Holiwell is scheduled Tuesday in King County Superior Court in Seattle.

The 49-year-old was accused Thursday of promoting his estranged wife’s prostitution, stealing ammunition from the department’s gun range where he worked and selling steroids.

He’s charged with promoting prostitution in the second degree, theft in the first degree and violation of the Uniformed Controlled Substances Act.

The 19-year-veteran and member of the SWAT team was arrested Thursday and jailed with bail set at $150,000. His arraignment was originally set for July 1.

Sheriff John Urquhart (URK’-hart) called the offenses a form of police corruption and said he would root out such behavior.
