SALEM, Ore. (CBS Seattle) — A snake is on the loose, and not just any snake.
A 10-foot long red tail boa constrictor has gone missing from the 800 block of Treewood Lane Southeast, KPTV reports.
The owners of the 10-foot snake, named Nomad, told authorities that it has been missing from their home for about four days.
Following a search of the area, deputies found nothing.
One neighbor, Estefania Nateras, is nervous about the missing snake.
“I was on my way to school, and I was checking everywhere to see if the snake is there,” said Nateras.
While some are nervous about the missing snake, the roommate of the snake’s owner insists that it is friendly and does not bite.
Despite this, the neighborhood has been told to remain alert with their pets and children.
The snake is green and tan in color and does not have a red tail as it’s moniker would suggest.
Authorities have advised anyone who sees the boa constrictor to call the sheriff’s office at 503-588-5032.
