Ibanez Joins Royals After Release From Angels
MINNEAPOLIS (CBS Seattle / AP) — Former Seattle Mariners outfielder and designated hitter Raul Ibanez has signed with the Kansas City Royals after being released by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim last week.
The 42-year-0ld batted just .157 in 57 games for the Angels, but 10 of his 26 hits were for extra bases.
He spent three seasons with the Royals, starting in 2001.
Ibanez shocked many around Major League Baseball last season by hitting 29 home runs during his third stint with the Mariners.
This is Ibznez’s fifth team since 2011.
