Real Estate Broker Using Handmade Drone To Film Properties
ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — A Roseburg real estate broker is putting a handmade drone to use filming rural properties for sale.
The Roseburg News-Review reports that Gorden Hanks’ hand-built hexacopter takes photos and video above his properties.
Hanks then adds a voice track and background music.
When Hanks first looked into drones, they were tens of thousands of dollars. But he built his own six months ago for about $3,500.
Hanks says he never flies it more than 80 feet above the ground, and never directly over people or structures.
Hanks, a gadget and photography enthusiast, has taught his 9-year-old grandson to operate the drone so Hanks can focus on the photos.
