Romero Rejoins Mariners, Luetge Optioned To Rainiers
(1090 The Fan) — Outfielder Stefen Romero has been recalled from Triple-A Tacoma and will join the Mariners for this weekend’s series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
The 25-year-old has made 11 appearances with the Rainiers since being optioned from Seattle at the end of June. In those 11 games, Romero hit .283 with two doubles, three home runs and nine RBI.
In 51 games with the Mariners Romero hit .196 with six doubles, two triples, three home runs and 11 RBI.
To make room on the 25-man roster, Seattle optioned pitcher Lucas Luetge to Tacoma. The lefty was recalled on July 10 and made one appearance with the Mariners. In three separate stints with Seattle has appeared in four games and recorded a 5.40 ERA (2 ER, 3.1 IP).
