(1090 The Fan) — Seattle Mariners reliever Danny Farquhar joined The Steve Sandmeyer Show from Safeco Field as the team prepared to face the New York Mets for an interleague series.
The right-hander spoke about getting comfortable with a new catcher [Jesus Sucre] behind the plate.
“It’s an individual thing. I threw to him last year in Triple-A and the major leagues. And then in spring training, I threw to him a bunch, so for me, I’m comfortable with him. With [Humberto] Quintero, I’d never thrown to him before so It took 2-3 outings before we got really comfortable together. Some guys might get comfortable with a guy right away, some might take longer.”
He also weighted in on “Arrow-Gate,” his innings limit in pitching in relief, and who on the team the Mariners would call on in an absolute emergency relief situation.
