SEATTLE (AP) - A rescue team is attempting to retrieve a man who fell down a steep embankment in the Olympic Peninsula Tuesday afternoon.
KOMO reports that the man fell below High Steel Bridge, which spans over the Skokomish River and is considered to be the state’s highest bridge. The man was located on the river’s rocky shore with one or both legs injured.
Initial witness reports say that the man was climbing in the area when he slid down.
Rescue crews say they are attempting a rope rescue.
