(1090 The Fan) — The Seattle Mariners have acquired outfielder Chris Denorfia from the San Diego Padres, according to team officials. The team says he will join the rest of the club in Baltimore tomorrow.

Seattle will send minor league outfielder Abraham Almonte and minor league pitcher Stephen Kohlscheen to San Diego to complete the trade.

As a member of the 2014 Padres, Denorfia holds a line of .242/.293/.319 with one home run, 16 RBI, ten doubles and three triples. The outfielder has mostly platooned an outfield position in San Diego, however he has averaged nearly 400 plate appearances in his more than four-year tenure with the Padres. Denorfia is also a proven weapon against left-handed pitching. Lifetime, Denorfia holds a .301/.367/.447 against lefties.

Denorfia, 34, will be a free agent at the end of the 2014 season.
