(1090 The Fan) — Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Bryan Walters joined The Steve Sandmeyer Show Monday to talk about the progress the team is making this preseason and his punt returning.
“Your mentality back there is ‘catch everything,'” Walters said of awaiting a punt as a returner. “Catch everything you can get to.”
Whether Walters will be the main return man in 2014 is unknown. Earl Thomas is also slated to be a punt returner, but head coach Pete Carroll says Thomas won’t be doing it 100 percent of the time. Walters said he’s ready to contribute regardless of what his official role will be.
“It’s something I’ve done my whole life,” said Walters. “There’s no better rush than being able to catch the ball and having some space, and having to react, and make some guys miss.”
