SEATTLE (AP) — A 34-year-old man has been convicted of three federal felonies related to prostitution and sex trafficking of two juveniles and one adult woman.
The U.S. Justice Department said in a news release that Robert Powell was convicted Friday by a Seattle jury of two counts of transportation of a juvenile with intent to engage in prostitution and sex trafficking an adult victim by force, fraud and coercion.
Court records show between January 2014 to January 2015 Powell used abuse to keep a woman working for him as a prostitute in Washington and seven other states.
In August 2014, court documents say Powell took two Seattle area juveniles to California where he forced them to work as prostitutes and give him their earnings.
Powell faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and up to life in prison.
