SEATTLE (CBS) — The actions of one police officer from Washington state will warm your heart — and it would’ve gone unnoticed if not for a Tweet from his department.
According to KIRO, the officer spotted a couple, who were shopping with their children at a local Target, attempting to shoplift diapers and childrens’ shoes. After stopping them, the officer did something unexpected: he quietly contacted a cashier and paid for the diapers and shoes out of his own pocket.
The officer also informed the couple about resources for families in need, KIRO reports.
The Redmond Police Department Tweeted an excerpt from the police report earlier this week.
“Sometimes our officers don’t tell us everything,” they said.
Target declined to press charges.
