The 2017 Honda Accord is in showrooms now. I just drove the Touring V6 version. Wow.

It’s no surprise that the Accord always makes the Car and Driver top ten list. It is simply a fantastic vehicle that gets sweeter every model year.

The Accord got a major refresh in 2016. For the new model year, you’ll notice some trick LED exterior light. The headlights are super cool looking. The navigation screen looks a lot sharper and brighter. And if you use an iPhone or Android device, CarPlay and Android Auto is available and both systems are great. I sent and received some texts on my way to Tacoma in terrible traffic. You just tell Siri what you want to send and who you want to send it to and whoosh. Anything to keep idiots from looking at their phones while putting people as risk is a good thing.

Driving the Accord is a beautiful thing. There’s something comforting and harmonious about this vehicle. Everything works well. It feels like everyone involved designing and engineering the Accord were on the same underwent a Vulcan mind meld. When you get to test new vehicles from every manufacture you notice this stuff right from the get-go.

I also drive Acura models and I know this may sound crazy, but I feel more comfortable and jazzed driving a Honda over the more expensive Acura’s.

I’m looking forward to driving the Accord hybrid that returns to the lineup for 2017.

My tester came with the competent 278-hp 3.5-liter V-6. The four-cylinder power plant makes 185-horsepower.

Whatever package you order, your car will be nicely equipped. Prices start at around $23,000. My tester with every option sells for over 35 grand.

I love this car and I could picture one in our garage. Great job yet again Honda.
