Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin had stated earlier this week that the team would put on a show of unity during the national anthem today prior to the team’s game against the Miami Dolphins. We now know what exactly that demonstration of unity will look like courtesy of QB Russell Wilson’s Instagram account.
This however, was not the original plan that Baldwin had for the team according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The team is attempting to call attention to the same injustices that 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has spoken out about over the course of the last few weeks. However, the team chose to stand for the anthem as opposed to kneeling as Kaepernick and others including Broncos’ linebacker Brandon Marshall have recently done.
