SEATTLE (CBS/1090 The Fan) — The Seattle Seahawks have signed former New Orleans Saints running back C.J. Spiller, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Seattle is in need of a healthy running back, with second-year player Thomas Rawls expected to miss several weeks with a cracked fibula. Rookie C.J. Prosise, who missed preseason time with a hamstring injury, is dealing with a cracked bone in his hand. Both were inactive last week against the San Francisco 49ers.
Spiller, 29, was cut by New Orleans September 13.
Spiller was drafted by the Buffalo Bills with the ninth-overall pick in 2010. In five seasons with Buffalo, he recorded 3,321 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, and an additional 6 receiving touchdowns.
