The Seattle Seahawks defense is a feisty, hard-hitting group. Hence, their “Legion of Boom” nickname. They don’t like giving up points, let alone passing touchdowns.
Facing the league’s top passing attack in the Atlanta Falcons, something was bound to give. In the third quarter, the Falcons went on an extended drive that ended with an easy touchdown catch for Julio Jones.
After the touchdown, cornerback Richard Sherman got into a spat on the sidelines and had to be restrained by teammates. It wasn’t initially clear to whom he was directing his frustration — he exchanged heated words both with cornerback Kelsie McCray and with defensive coordinator Kris Richard.
Not exactly sure what was being said, but it’s clear that Sherman was very unhappy with giving up the touchdown to Jones.
At one point, the rest of the Seahawks defense began to jump around Sherman — trying to get him involved and, presumably, help bring the team back together.
