Wilcox finished with 31 points on 12-for-18 shooting, including a career-best 7-for-12 from the beyond the arc. The senior guard had 10 points in the first half, but it was the opening portion of the second that saw him take over, largely due to the absence of the 6-foot-6 Dinwiddie.
A strong defensive effort from Washington (10-6, 2-1) enabled it to hold off a solid Utes team which entered third in the Pac-12 in scoring with an 85.5 points-per-game average. The Huskies limited the Utes to 41.5 percent shooting for the game.

Before the Huskies get to face the No. 1-ranked Arizona Wildcats on Saturday, they face an 11-2 Arizona State team that can shoot well and boasts one of the quicker point guards in the league in sophomore Jahii Carson. Carson is averaging 19.3 points and 5.3 assists per game so far this season.
