T-Birds Score Win Over Spokane Sunday Looking to rebound from a flat effort the previous night against Kootenay, the Thunderbirds brought the energy from the opening face-off against U.S. Division rival Spokane. Seattle opened a 2-0 first-period lead against the number two team in the standings, before cruising to a 4-1 victory Sunday.
T-Birds Fall To Kootenay SaturdayLooking to build off an important and emotional victory over Everett on Friday night, the Thunderbirds opened a four-game homestand in disappointing fashion Saturday. A flat Seattle squad playing without top scorers Shea Theodore and Mathew Barzal were thoroughly out-played by Sam Reinhart and the Kootenay Ice of the Eastern Conference. Reinhart, last summer's No. 2 overall pick by the Buffalo Sabres, had a goal and an assist in his 10th game with the Ice. He has 22 points in that span and the Ice are 8-2.

Five fights broke out between the two teams within the first 21 minutes. The Thunderbirds' Justin Hickman scored two goals and had the lone goal of the shootout to lift the team to victory. T-Birds goalie Taran Kozun provided 37 saves, including 17 in the third period.
