It’s the second consecutive loss for the Thunderbirds against Everett in a little over a week, with Seattle (39-20-2-4) managing just two goals against the stingy Everett defense.
Seattle’s sweep of Spokane extended its win streak to six games and vaulted the team into fifth place in the Western Conference standings with 40 points. Danny Mumaugh provided 26 saves and Shea Theodore and Adam Henry each had two assists.
Henry, acquired from Lethbridge (1-7-0-1) on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Griffin Foulk, scored a goal in the first period of Saturday night’s game against Tri-City with just three seconds left.
Roberts Lipsbergs scored twice, Shea Theodore had a goal and newly acquired Adam Henry, playing in his first game as a T-Bird, scored with :03 remaining in the first period to stake Seattle to a 2-0 lead it never relinquished.
In the acquisition of Henry, the Thunderbirds will send Griffin Foulk to the Hurricanes.
