The Winterhawks handed Seattle a 5-4 defeat in Game 6 of their first-round series. The loss meant the end of a handful of Thunderbirds’ careers, including that of defenseman Shea Theodore.
Theodore, 19, has played in seven games since returning last month. He’s expected back in the lineup this weekend after missing the past two games with the flu. His return brings scoring stability and leadership in an inexperienced Thunderbirds squad in need.
Seattle (9-10-2-1) returns home for six of its next seven games after a 2-4 road swing through the Eastern Conference. The trip started off well enough with a 6-2 win over Prince Albert, only to end with losses in four of the final five games.
Shea Theodore, the Thunderbirds starting defenseman, scored his 11th goal of the season and added another assist to give him 24 total points through 19 games played. In a season of inconsistencies for Steve Konowalchuk’s team, Theodore has been the lone constant.
The Anaheim Ducks have signed first-round pick Shea Theodore to a three-year contract.
