Wyden Seeks Probe In Whistleblower Firing

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., wants an investigation into the treatment of whistleblowers at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, after two were fired in the past five months after raising safety concerns about the construction of a $13 billion plant to treat the site’s most dangerous radioactive wastes.

Hanford Whistleblower Loses Job

Oregon Senator Ron Wyden on Wednesday demanded to know why a Hanford Nuclear Reservation whistleblower has lost his job. Walter Tamosaitis last week was laid off by URS Corp. after 44 years of employment.

DOE Secretary To Visit Hanford Next Week

U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell says new federal Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz plans to visit the Hanford Nuclear Reservation next week.
