Washington and Other Western States Finding Fires to be Costly

Many states, including Washington, are being hit hard by this season’s wildfires. State fire officials project that they will spend about $19.8 million on emergency fire suppression activities in the current fiscal year that ends next June.

Mount Rainier Snowshoer Burned Money for Warmth

A snowshoer who was lost in a blizzard for two days on Washington state’s Mount Rainier said he stayed alive by digging out a snow tunnel and burning his paper money for warmth.
