Local Gay Couples Get Marriage Licenses

Two by two, dozens of same-sex couples obtained their marriage licenses in Washington state early Thursday, just hours after Gov. Chris Gregoire signed a voter-approved law legalizing gay marriage.

Gregoire’s office told The Associated Press on Friday that Audrey Christine Lindsay was born Thursday at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. She’s Gregoire’s first grandchild and the first child for 33-year-old Courtney Gregoire and her husband, Scott Lindsay.
