Macklemore & Ryan Lewis had written and produced a song called “Same Love,” but they needed a special hook to finalize the emotional track. Like the rap duo, Lambert is from Seattle, though she had never met them before.
“When we were about to pick the first single I really lobbied for ‘Merry Go ‘Round’ because I’m out there every night and I can tell you, hands down this is the one people are connecting with. I’m really glad that was my first thing to say to the world.”
It will be the first-ever Grammy telecast performance for Nine Inch Nails and QOTSA.
