A man who killed six people in a 2008 shooting rampage in Skagit County, including a sheriff’s deputy, has been transferred from Western State Hospital to a unit of a state prison at Monroe for mentally ill inmates.
An inmate with three months left to serve on his sentence escaped from the minimum security unit at the Monroe Correctional Complex, the state Department of Corrections said.
