Some defenses in the National Football League are blessed with great athletes. Others hide weaknesses with unique schemes. The Seattle Seahawks’ defense has great athletes, a simple scheme, and players who enjoy doling out bone-crunching tackles.
Wide receiver Percy Harvin will play for the Seattle Seahawks in Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff game against the New Orleans Saints after missing most of the season following hip surgery.
The challenge for the Seahawks pass defense will be containing the Saints, knowing that Brees, coach Sean Payton and the rest of the New Orleans offense will try to counter what Seattle does so well.
Seattle returns to Atlanta this week with the lingering disappointment of what happened against the Falcons still fresh even 10 months later. The Seahawks trailed 20-0 in the first half and 27-7 heading to the fourth quarter before staging a memorable comeback led by quarterback Russell Wilson.
