A Puget Sound Energy spokesman says the utility hopes to have most of the out-of-service customers in King and Pierce counties back on line Tuesday.
According to the Seattle Times, more than 120,000 customers in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties are without power this morning due to heavy snow, ice and falling trees hitting power lines. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has extended the Ice Storm Warning until later this afternoon.
The Port of Seattle is reporting one runway open for air travel this morning after SeaTac Airport had shut down earlier today due to ice. Meantime, Alaska Airlines has announced their operations have been hindered by the weather, with only four flights dispatched by 12:00pm today.
Christmas blew in with scattered power outages around the Sound, according to Seattle City Light.
