Skechers Settles with WA Over False Advertising

Washington state residents who bought a Skechers shoe that promised toned buttocks will be able to get a refund. Attorney General Rob McKenna’s office says the shoe company will allocate $40 million for refunds and pay $5 million to the 44 states that sued the shoemaker for false advertising.

NJ Legislators Hope to Woo Amazon to New Jersey

Legislation designed to encourage major online retailers like Amazon.com to locate in New Jersey has been introduced, according to the Associated Press. The legislation would allow Amazon to forego sales tax collections until September of 2013 in exchange for its $65 million investment.
